A place where images and updates from CMWC 2010 will be posted.

Update Thursday Night
Footdown is in the results page.

The art show was a sight to see. It was the equivalent of shutting down times square. The main road in Pana was filled with local artists, and the kids came out by the hundreds for the art clinique with tons of donated supplies from the messengers.

We also had the first of the IFBMA open forums with Warsaw detailing plans for the CMWC next year, and several cities bidding for 2012.

And it never rained today. Not at all. A much needed break in the weather especially for the locales here. It's amazing how fast they rebuild. Most of the roads between here and Guate are opened now. Too bad really, I don't think anyone would mind getting stuck in Pana for an extra couple of days.

Update Wednesday Night
Team Polodios from Seattle took the honors with a dominating 8 win - no loss performance, including the 5-1 victory over Tokyo in the finals. Full results posted.

Thursday features the art show, when we will shut down Calle Santander all day for local and messenger artists, and a fundraiser where schools kids will create artwork with the donated supplies from dozens of visiting cycle messengers. We will also have the first of the IFBMA open forums, and a little more competition at night with Footdown.

Update Wednesday
What these guys have done to get the pac bags polo tourny going is extraordinary. They had to reuse the busted wood from the original La Ocho and carry it down to the new court. And then wait as we finished up the delayed new Ocho, and until the organizer made it down the mountain. Now here they are playing polo in Pana. Polo Dios and PDX are the favorites, and Marco's Japanese Push Push is the outside hopeful. Team Australia should certainly make some noise also.

They've reopened the road from Godinez, so its even easier (relatively) to get here, and everyone we know of is accounted for. Byron from DC made it from the pacfic coast where he was with his guate family, and the Warsaw guys are here to give the final presentation for next year's cmwc.

A beautiful sunny day, but im sure we'll get rain later.

Update Tuesday:
The group ride around the lake went off early, and almost the whole group of messengers here in Pana made the trip across the lake for the food distribution ride.  In Martin's words: "I've never seen that many messengers awake at 6am." .

The rain hit hard in the afternoon, but it cleared up for the La Ocho Finals. Seeded heats and a tournament bracket brought us to a 15 lap final. Ivonne took the victory outlasting Coach to the finish line, with locale favorite Francisco in 3rd. Full results posted.

Polo all day Wednesday.

Update Monday

Update Saturday night:
As early as 6am Sunday, we will begin moving wood from the old La Ocho/Polo arena to the other soccer stadium, just north of Calle 14 de Febrero off the dead end road from Calle Rancho Grande. We will be attempting to set up a La Ocho on the field there; no more banked turns or bridge. We are hoping to begin racing around 10am. Polo is moving over here as well.

Update Friday:

La Ocho postponed. we will try again Saturday at 10am. We will race this track at some point no matter what. We've put too much into it not to.

The Municipailty of Pana is throwing us a party!  So instead of Circus Bar on Friday, we party at Escuela Central, located  on Calle Santander, just north of Calle 14 de Febrero,  starting from 9pm. Saturday we will party at circus bar.
