The Bullitt cargo bike

orginally Bullitt had promised the cargo bike to some guy from Europe who bailed and never came to cmwc. so then they promised it to me. they were going to ship it to guate, where i would build it, race it in the Bullitt Cargo Competition, then donate it to a locale. well, sometimes the best laid plans...

El Gran Premio de Guatemala

so the race was supposed to go up to solola, but the road was washed out because of the storms the night before. so we showed up at the start around 9am not even knowing if we could race. valentine from telefonica was setting up the stage, the cops were talking about the roads, manuel for casa ciclista was stuck up in solola not able to get down the mountain.

choose the right bike!

we're not gonna butter it up for you. the streets in pana are not smoothe and silky like they were in phili in 2000. they're more like the cobblestone section on the back side of the course in copenhagen in 2001. i think ill be riding my cross bike. this will give me enough speed on the few fully paved roads, great traction on the pave, and ill be flying over the cobbles.

what bike are you bringing?
